For the holiday season, Jawbone planned to launch a new line of fitness trackers. But how to differentiate itself in a crowded and competitive field? The company decided to woo consumers with touch kiosks in Best Buy stores across the U.S. Among retailers, Best Buy is the top seller of digital fitness trackers, so making a good impression in stores was key.
Favorite Medium designed an engaging experience for the kiosks, which were outfitted with custom 24” touchscreen displays. Featuring inspiring video footage and clear navigation, the kiosks explained how easy it was to use and personalize Jawbone fitness trackers. When it came to development, the embedded kiosk hardware presented some challenges; its memory, processor speed, and graphic chips were resource-constrained. Working closely with the Jawbone content team, our engineers ensured smooth video playback and a highly responsive touch interface.
